WHY THE NETHERLANDS?

The Netherlands is one of the most popular destinations for school hockey tours. The competitiveness of the Dutch hockey leagues attracts top athletes from all over the world. Many of the sports top names have spent time playing in the Netherlands. Both the men’s and women’s national teams have been hugely successful. The men’s national team has won the Olympics three times and the Hockey World Cup three times. They’ve also won the Champions Trophy eight times, the EuroHockey Nations Championship seven times and the Hockey World League once. They’re currently ranked number one in the FIH World Rankings and are current World Champions. They’re the most successful team in World Cup history. They’ve also won ten Olympic medals, including three golds. ORANJE-ROOD HOCKEY CLUB - EINDHOVEN


Hockey club Oranje-Rood , also known as HC Oranje-Rood or simply Oranje-Rood, is a Dutch professional field hockey club based in Eindhoven, North Brabant. The club was founded on 1 July 2016 as a merger of Oranje Zwart and EMHC. In May 2019, the first women's team won the club its first prize by winning the Dutch national cup, the Gold Cup. As of September 2024, the club has over 2,500 members, most of whom (1,600 members) play in youth. Besides training and participation in the various national leagues, Oranje-Rood offers them a wide range of other field hockey activities.
